RE: Anyone have problems with Damon crooked on frame?

I am not being rude, but when you are being fague and say things I don't want to start anything, you did. If you want to air your problems, then do so. If you don't want the company to read what your saying you do not need to put it on here.
You came right out and said basically that if you don't get satisfaction you will smear and degrade the Manuf. I say you opened the can of worms and if I was the manf. saw this post before you even spoke with them, I would be a little more than upset.
Some people need to go back and reread her first post, she SPECIFICALLY solicited input from anyone who has ACTUAL EXPERIENCE with this issue; all others need not reply. She DID NOT say she would degrade the manuf. and if you read more closely, she DID say they have had extensive contact with Damon.
Good luck guys, I hope you are safe this weekend and that all is well.

RE: Kansas City RV accident

Thank goodness all are okay, but FOURTEEN PEOPLE!?! That coach looks to have a freestanding dining table, so 2 captains chairs and two couches, would provide seatbelts for 6, where were the other 8 sitting!?!

RE: Autoformer setup

I'll second the plugs! I just put our Frank's unit in a couple weeks ago as well as as Progressive Industries EMC; all have plugs to make replacement and/or bypass easier.

RE: Damon Motorhomes

Count me as a Damon fan.... I have a different model than the one you are looking at, but in general we have been real pleased. There is a group of us that all got 2008's this past year and everyone seems happy with their decision.
What he said.

RE: Cargo Bay

We have a Coleman Roadtrip grill that would not fit in any bin type storage I've seen, not to mention the MUCH larger tailgate grill we sometimes carry! Also have 4 of the reclining chairs and two folding tables, again, bins would not hold any of these.

RE: New motorhome

A good reason to have a GPS tracking system installed; just log-on the net and find the coach in real time!

Freightliner M2 Service

We have a 2008 on a FL XC-R chassis and it is due for the first iteration of the "M2" service. For anyone that has had this done, what have you paid?

RE: Towing weight question

The tongue weight is to be considered in the GVWR. So if towing a 2,500lbs. trailer with 250lbs. tongue weight, that would go against the GVWR.

RE: High Value RV's

I recognize the interior bedding and exterior paint ---its a Tiffin. Not sure if its the bus or a Pheaton though.
Sorry, 2006 Damon Tuscany, Venetian Red exterior with Peppermill Court interior.

RE: Class A With Bunkbeds, Tows 6000lbs+, Less Than $150,000?

The Windsport brochure lists the weights for the 34b as 22,000 GVWR, 26,000 GCWR.

RE: Class A With Bunkbeds, Tows 6000lbs+, Less Than $150,000?

Damon Astoria has only 5k towing capacity (28,000 GVWR, 33,000 GCWR) and thus has a 5k hitch.

RE: Cummins ISL, ISC, ISB

For the 2007 engine rework, the ISB is now 6.7L and generally 340HP with 660 ft/lbs torque.

RE: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of my GVWR

I neglected to put all the numbers in the original post. Here they are if any of you are interested:
Factory Specs:
GVWR 27,910
GAWR 10,410 front
GAWR 17,500 rear
Loaded weights as measured (+-50):
GVWR 27,300
GAWR 9,700 front (4,650 L and 5,050 R)
GAWR 17,600 rear (8,200 L and 9,400 R)
You can see the imbalance from R to L, though under total GVWR.
Using those numbers, you are OVER capactity on the right rear by 650 pounds.

RE: Any comments on Damon Astoria

Holman carries the Challenger and Daybreak lines, but not the diesels such as the Astoria. We live in Cincy and bought our Astoria at Best Buy RV's in Richmond; a good dealer with a GREAT service staff!

RE: Is it a 2007 or 2008?

We have a 2008 MODEL YEAR DP we ordered last spring, the chassis was manufactured in May 2007 and this is so indicated in the "Incomplete Vehicle" sticker from Freightliner. The sticker from Damon states the date of manufacture as 7/13/2007; it was fully completed and delivered 8/17/07. All paperwork lists the coach as a 2008 model year, including the insurance and registration. Again, date of manufacture has nothing to do with the model year, nor is a VIN associated with a calendar year, but rather whatever model year the maker designates. Out of pure curiousity, I just ran the chassis VIN through Carfax, shows up as a 2008 incomplete XC MH chassis.
